Breathwork & Community Grounding: BIPOC ONLY

27th August 2020 | 6pm-8:00pm EST

Join us for a facilitated breathwork session to process some of the grief and racial battle fatigue that come with navigating the multiple crises unfolding before us. We will briefly look at the 400 Years of Inequality timeline as a contemplative tool for deepening conversations about structural inequality and community resiliency. As an option, participants will be able to process and integrate the breathwork experience during small group and whole-group dialogue. The main goal of this session is to provide participants with a generative and restorative experience.

This particular session is for Black, Indeginous and People of Color only. Space for all will be held at a different time.

A ZOOM link will be sent before the gathering.
You can also find the link in the unique Online Event Page for this event within Eventbrite.
Please try not to share Zoom link. To limit Zoom booming, encourage others to register.

  • Set yourself up in a place where you will be able to lay down comfortably and have privacy when the time comes to breathe.
  • Please ask others in your household not to disturb you during the breathwork session.
  • Make sure you have whatever you’ll need to support your comfort - water, blankets, pillows, tissues, a journal, whatever else feels right to you to prepare the environment.
  • Headphones can also be helpful for audio quality provided the cord is long enough and doesn’t feel like a hindrance.
  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • Eat lightly or not at all before the session.
  • Refrain from using non-prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco and caffeine before and immediately after the session.
  • If possible, allow time immediately following the session for integration, like: journaling, a walk, some form of creative expression, a few minutes of meditation.
  • If you need support following the session, please call or text Sandy Wiggins at email at [email protected]
